| ELIZABETH WARD- BOARD DIRECTOR |
|
| She grew up as an orphan and attended African foundation orphanage in Dandira-Mukono (1989-2000) by then it was owned by Rev. Ssempangi from there she managed to finish senior six (advanced secondary level education). She had always had a dream to become a nurse but before she could even fulfill her dream, the orphanage closed. To her dismay she had no hope of continuing school. She then struggled to earn a living serving as waitress in a make-shit restaurant at Mengo trading center. With the little money she saved, she got enrolled at YMCA in 2001 and attained a diploma in Stenography. It’s with this diploma that she happened to secure a job with an Australian foundation located in Kiteetika-Gayaza (an orphanage) where she worked till May 2005.
She would later move to the USA in may 2007 after getting married to Mr. Frank Ward an American Humani tarian who was in Uganda on Humanitarian missions several times.
She enrolled into Piedmont Community College where she acquired a Nurse Aid Certification, Medication Aide Certificate and an Adult Care Administrator License. During the same year she joined Piedmont Community College and majored in Associates Degree in Nursing and Associate Degree in Arts.
During the course of her study at piedmont community college, she received two (2) presidential honor awards, a dean’s award, and an opportunity to serve as a college ambassador and college foundation scholarship. Then she transferred to Guilford technical community college (GTCC). While at GTCC she pursued associate degree in nursing and arts and then graduated in May 2011 with an honor.
Having worked as a Nurse Aid at Roxboro Nursing Home and Maxim Health Care Services in 2007-2010, Mrs. Ward would choose to work in her own business with her Husband Ward by starting I CARE FAMILY HOMES an Assisted Living Homage for the elderly and young disabled children.
“You give but little when you give your possessions. It is when you give of yourself that you truly give.” -Khalil Gibran- But as well "It is every man's obligation to put back into the world at least the equivalent of what he takes out of it." Albert Einstein brought this quote to satisfaction when it comes to Mrs. Wards thinking because she chose to join lijif.org to do exactly that. |

| Frankie Ward |
|
Frankie Ward spent his first 14 years of his life as the child of Tobacco Farmers who owned vast farms in North Carolina. He became an educated, caring and committed professional well known in his community for helping all the people he could through the ministry he has served of the Church of Latter Day saints.
The long list of honors and appreciation Frankie has received indicate not only his achievements, but also his passion for improving life of his fellow man. And this can be shown when he traveled miles to Uganda every year to help with Africa Foundation an orphanage that was once the biggest in Uganda. Frankie continues to be committed to public service; leadership development and the education of the youth and helping the young ones grow into men and women of tomorrow.
At the age of 20, Frankie who was born in Alamance in 1961 would purchase 20 acres of Land in Mebane while working with Lints Warehousing Corporation. This he learned from his parents Arnold Ward and Patricia Marie Ward who worked as Textile Employees where Frankie also joined the night shift when he turned 16 years old.
With the Latter Day Saints Ministry, Frankie has volunteered every weekend to run a stall at the Caswell county fair where proceedings are raised for those in need in the community and those around the world.
After the journey of working at LINTZ in 1990, Frankie decided to start his own Heat and Air company and a Shredding business to which he has added “I care Family Homes” as he helps with Shipping at Dominion Freightline.
Frankie is pursuing a Degree in Applied Science at Piedmont Community College in North Carolina. With a heart to serve, Frankie was asked to join lijif.org as a Board Member and he agreed. His desire to help others, a symbol of gratitude to how he was raised up will bring much hope to those whose hopes had been shuttered by wars, literacy and pure non-desire to move on. His wonderful speeches of hope have been listened to by the Youth and young in Mexico, Barbados, the UK, and in Uganda where he worked with Habitat for Humanity in 2000-2006. He was introduced to Uganda by Mr. Rand Blair an Executive at Habitat for Humanity in Uganda. During his stay, he served in several orphanages and also at the Fish farms in Nakasongola with several other volunteers.
Frankie is married to Elizabeth Ward a young beautiful orphan girl he met while on a mission with Habitat for Humanity. They have since had two children (precious boys) and the wife relocated to United States where they both base to go serve the world. |

| Charlene Oesterling is a fitness chef, trainer, jump rope artist, and the creative mind behind many products in development. The experiences from her life in 4 countries have led her to become who and what she is and does today. Although some of her knowledge has been studied in the pages of books she teaches and leads through the experiences, places and people who have touched her life. Hippea’s Healthy Concepts was created by Charlene, whose passion is to get America as well as the world healthy and fit. Statistics show that obesity and diabetes are on the up rise and something must be done to reverse the direction in which this statistic is going.
The facts are staggering; one third of our country is obese. It is everywhere from individuals to parents to children and families. In a quest to help change this statistic, the vision of this site is to give you some simple, motivational, fun ways to start moving and get healthy through fitness and nutrition. It will be a basic start to getting you up and moving again or start moving for the first time.
As a Michigan native, Charlene was the youngest of three children. Her father worked for the state as an officer of the law and her mother worked a variety of jobs. At the age of 5 she began a passionate love affair with basketball, which became her life on the court for over 30 years. That dream put her through college and into the professional ranks. A full ride scholarship to Western Michigan University and completion of her
degree program at Saginaw Valley State University were all part of this dream. Her basketball career lead her to Austria, England and New Zealand until injuries and a growing interest in fitness and the impact of food led her in a different direction. |
